Eiko's Tuesdays Installation series

 

Lydia Bell and guest curator Shin Otake have invited rapper, R&B singer, and painter DonChristian Jones to respond in words and music to Eiko's work, compiled as a video piece by Alexis Moh on March 8. Jones' performance will be followed by a conversation with Jones and Eiko about the role of performance in addressing violence, anger, and identity.

Eiko's Book Club will meet each Thursday evening at Danspace Project in the church sanctuary. Authors will include Kenzaburo OeKyoko HayashiMichiko Ishimure, andTamiki Hara. See below for weekly readings.

Danspace has invited Sam Miller to be a writer-in-residence and oral historian Svetlana Kitto to interview participants and document the Platform along the way.

Filmmaker Alexis Moh will create weekly films entitled "Postcards from the East Village" comprised of Eiko's daily solos to be posted regularly on Danspace Project's new online "Journal" danspaceproject.org/journal 

Danspace Project will publish its tenth catalogue with writing by a wide range of writers, choreographers and artists including Valda Setterfield, Trajal Harrell, Luc Sante, Paul Chan, Michelle Boule, Koma Otake and many others (see full listing below). These will be available to the public for purchase during the Platform and at danspaceproject.org.
